ACORD Names Chubb a Market Leader in Claims Technology

WARREN, NJ, May 15, 2008 - ACORD presented the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies with a market leadership award to recognize the insurer's efforts to encourage vendors, agents and brokers to adopt ACORD standards and implement new technology to help increase the efficiency of the insurance industry. Chubb received the award during the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum in Las Vegas.

"I congratulate Chubb on winning this award and applaud them for their ongoing leadership. Chubb clearly illustrates, across the industry, how vital ACORD data standards implementations are for improving communication and business overall," said John Kellington, senior vice president, ACORD.

"Chubb is pleased to accept the 2008 ACORD Market Leadership Award, which recognizes our continuing efforts to work closely with our agents and partners to create and advance the adoption of claim technology within the industry," said Dino Robusto, executive vice president, Chubb & Son, and worldwide claim manager. "By actively exchanging information through our electronic interfaces with agents at the beginning and during key milestones in the claim process, we significantly enhance our level of communication and provide agents with the information they need to deliver superior service to the customers."

Chubb has worked closely with Applied Systems and AMS to develop and promote the adoption of ACORD claims standards by agents, brokers and insurers. The insurer's eBusiness manager chaired the ACORD working group that developed a white paper on implementing the standards into the claim cycle. In addition, Chubb and Applied Systems created claims download to enable agents and brokers to automatically download personal and commercial lines claim information into their agency management systems. Chubb also developed the first AMS electronic Activities and Notifications tool with AMS Connectivity Services to automatically alert agents and brokers when their customers' claim status has changed.

Chubb developed its eBusiness claim tools in collaboration with its agents and brokers to maintain a high level of service to policyholders throughout the claim process-from first notice of loss to final resolution. More information on Chubb's complete suite of claim-related tools is available at http://www.chubb.com/agents/chubb2020.html

The member insurers of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies form a multi-billion dollar organization providing property and casualty insurance for personal and commercial customers worldwide through 8,500 independent agents and brokers. Chubb's global network includes branches and affiliates throughout North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia.
